Intervention Observation Program
Agree principals and associates are involved in mediating, facilitating, arbitrating and fact-finding in a wide variety of situations. Agree trains internationally in the areas of negotiation, conflict management, and mediation. The Agree Intervention Observation Program is designed to meet the needs of those who have already completed a basic 40 hour mediation training program, together with a 24 hour advanced program and who wish to develop their skills and extend their knowledge about ADR in practice. Observers will have the opportunity to observe between 4 to 10 interventions over a period of 4 weeks with Agree personnel, observing experienced ADR professionals at work in a variety of contexts.
Observers will
- Be involved as observers in ADR interventions e.g. mediations, fact finding, Partnering, arbitration or facilitation
- Be exposed to and involved in the full range of conflict management services provided by Agree.
- Learn about the administration and day to day operation of an ADR practice.
- Be exposed to a variety of ADR marketing techniques.
- Access the latest books, journals, videotapes and other ADR resources in the Agree library.
Agree offers a full range of conflict management services promoting appropriate alternatives to litigation with an emphasis on collaborative approaches to dispute resolution. Services provided by Agree partners and panel of associates include:
Mediation
- the single most effective process for overcoming the barriers to settlement and meeting the real interests of all parties.
Facilitation
- working with larger groups to foster collaboration and develop consensus
Partnering
- helping parties at any stage of a construction project or working relationship manage conflict and work together effectively.
Conflict System Design
- guiding stakeholders as they design their own unique conflict management system.
Training
- tailored in-house courses, from half day to a week, focusing on the effective use of ADR, conflict management and negotiation.
Other ADR Processes
- drawing on the experience and knowledge of Agree to introduce a dispute resolution process that is the "right next step" in your conflict.
Observation Reference awarded upon completion of program.
Prerequisites
- Basic 40 hour course in commercial or family mediation.
- Advanced 24 hour or longer course in mediation or facilitation.
- Two references from individuals familiar with candidate’s ADR related experience.
- Ability to commit to availability to observe interventions within a specific time frame.
Cost
Contact Agree for current costs for each Observation session and Administrative fees. In order to give each observer maximum exposure to Agree personnel, the number of interns involved in the program at any one time will be limited to two.
